FRIDAY, JANUARY 18, 2008 GATHER ON MACK, SAY OUT OF IRAQ! — GROSSE POINTE/DETROIT Sponsored by Pax Christi, Pointes for Peace, and the Detroit Peace Community.
Over 100 peace activists from Detroit metropolitan area peace groups and faith communities met at Mack & Moross in Grosse Pointe during rush hour traffic. Led by a drummer, we marched up and down Mack Avenue to a chorus of honks, thumbs up and waves from passing motorists and pedestrians.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2007 PEACE ON EARTH, END THE WAR — DOWNTOWN ROYAL OAK
Over 150 peace activists from Detroit metropolitan area peace groups and faith communities met at the Royal Oak First Methodist Church for speeches and singing. Led by two drummers, we marched up and down Main street in Royal Oak, greeted by honking cars and waving pedestrians.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2007 MARCH FOR PEACE — DOWNTOWN DETROIT Along with a coalition of metropolitan Detroit area peace groups, we escorted a
flag-draped coffin in front of Levin's, Stabenow's and Conyers’ offices, The Detroit News, WDIV, and The Detroit Free Press, starting at 4:00 pm at Senator Levin's office in the Federal Building on Michigan Avenue.
